Dear Reader,
This blog was created to support a research project for LS 5833: "Information Ethics." As someone who is interested in academic librarianship and library services for adults, I have had an increasing interest in information literacy courses and the librarian's role in helping to maintain academic honesty standards.
Throughout the semester, I have examined ethical issues of importance to the academic library and methods for improving service delivery to students. The "Crystal Clear Ethics" blog was formed to share what I have discovered in the hope that it will start a conversation between my fellow librarian colleagues about how to address the ever-present issue of cheating in academia.
The name for the blog is a play on words of my own name. I am fairly fond of puns, so do not be surprised if you see them scattered elsewhere throughout the blog.
To navigate this blog site, you can use the tabs at the top to view the Welcome page, Blog posts, Final Reflections, or the Collected References for the entire project. Additionally, I have included a Table of Contents page for easy navigation. You can find this on the tab next to the Welcome page.
Thank you for taking a bit of time to read over my blog! Please feel free to comment or send me an email if you find yourself interested in any of the topics discussed. I look forward to discussing these issues with you!
Crystal Snider
